What exactly does ScopeGuard do?
ScopeGuard compares ongoing project activity — customer messages, crew notes, photos, and updates — against your approved scope, estimate, and contract. When something looks like it falls outside that scope, it alerts you and helps prepare a change-order draft for your review.
Does it automatically send change orders?
No. ScopeGuard never sends a change order, sets a final price, or makes anything binding on its own. It prepares a draft. You review it, adjust the pricing and language, and decide if and when it goes to the customer.
Will it replace my project manager?
No. ScopeGuard is a tool your project manager or owner uses, not a replacement for one. It's built to catch things that are easy to miss in the middle of running a job — the decisions still belong to your team.
Can it understand my existing estimates and contracts?
Yes. You upload the estimate, contract, or project scope documents you already use, in the format you already have them. ScopeGuard uses those as the baseline for comparison.
What types of contractors can use it?
ScopeGuard is built for general contractors, remodelers, painters, flooring installers, landscapers, roofing companies, installation companies, and other trades that manage scopes that can change once work begins.
Can my crew submit voice notes and photos?
Yes. Crews can share quick voice notes, jobsite photos, and written updates, so changes get captured as they happen instead of relying on someone remembering to write it down later.
What happens if an alert is incorrect?
You can dismiss it. Every alert is a suggestion based on the information available, not a final determination. If it doesn't match what's actually happening on the job, you simply mark it as not applicable.
Does ScopeGuard determine my final price?
No. Pricing is always set and controlled by you. ScopeGuard may help estimate additional labor or materials as a starting point, but the final numbers on any change order are yours to set.
How long does setup take?
Setup involves adding your existing estimate or contract templates and connecting the ways your team already communicates updates. Most of the work is uploading documents you already have — a member of our team can walk you through it during a demo.
